overview
DM9600 Conspicuity Marking Tape is a highly weather-resistant product for outdoor use that can withstand harsh weather conditions. The material is designed to be highly visible when attached to trucks and trailers. It is also used as the reflective part of the phosphorescent reflective road stud DMLM90 due to its weather resistance and high reflective performance.
Product Structure
DM9600 Conspicuity Marking Tape is comprised of flexible, fully bonded cube corner (microprism) retroreflective elements and a smooth, durable, weather resistant, UV resistant polymeric film surface. The prism surface is coated with vacuum deposited aluminum to create a mirror-like finish. The resulting material is less than 0.20mm thick and features a pressure-sensitive adhesive with strong adhesion. The single-layer finish eliminates the need for edge sealing, so you can use it as is without worrying about water or debris getting in from the sides.
International Standards
DM9600 Conspicuity Marking Tape is ECE104 Class C approved as follows: White: 104R-001051, Yellow: 104R-0010502, Red: 104R-001053,
Retroreflective
DM9600 Conspicuity Marking Tape exceeds the minimum reflectance standard of the international standard ECE104 Class C. When measured with Illuminant A of the CIE standard and according to the provisions of CIE No. 54, the retroreflection coefficient of DM9600 Conspicuity Marking Tape will not fall below the values in the table below.
Color
The DM9600 Conspicuous Illness markings are available in yellow, white and red, all colours complying with ECE104 regulations.
Adhesive layer
The adhesive layer is protected by a release paper and can be removed without immersion in water or a solution. The 25mm adhesive surface will adhere for 5 minutes under an 800g load, so should not be peeled back more than 50mm when performing the prescribed standard adhesion test on a flat aluminium surface.
Handling instructions Application instructions
Materials bond best when the surface is at or near 15-38°C. Be sure to thoroughly remove any grease, oil, or dirt from the surface of the material. Wipe the surface with a clean towel and isopropyl alcohol or an equivalent product before bonding. If air bubbles are trapped, use a needle to pop them and a squeegee (rubber plate wiper) to push the air out.
Maintenance and cleaning
Wash by hand with warm water and synthetic detergent using a sponge, cloth or soft brush. Wet the cleaner and be careful not to scratch the surface. Do not use strong solvents, and use a pH value of 3 to 11 to avoid strong acidity or alkalinity. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning. Remove grease, oil and tar with a cloth dampened with heptane, VM&P naphtha or mineral spirits, then wash with detergent and rinse thoroughly. When using a high-pressure washer, please note the following:
- The maximum pressure is set to 80 bar.
- Set the maximum temperature to 60°C.
- When cleaning, keep the cleaning jet at least 1m away from the product surface.
- Keep the cleaning wand at an angle of no more than 15 degrees to the product surface.
- Please use in wide spray mode.
Storage location and shelf life
- Regardless of whether the marking tape is pre-processed or post-processed, it can be stored for up to two years from the date the product is delivered to you.
- Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
