Popular slatted semi-single bed

A semi-single bed is a useful bed size when you want to make the most of a small room. Although it is small, the standard width is 80cm, which is the minimum width required to turn over comfortably. A generous bed size is "shoulder width + 30cm", so even if a man's standard shoulder width is 45cm, 80cm is still a comfortable size to turn over.

  • A slat bed is a bed frame with parallel rungs (slats). These rungs are usually evenly spaced apart.
  • The mattress is placed on a slatted base, which distributes the weight of the mattress evenly and ensures breathability. This breathability prevents the mattress from becoming moldy or mildewed due to humidity and moisture, making it comfortable to sleep in even during the hot and humid Japanese summer.
